With a wealth of success met by the 1st edition, the Foundation dashes into the 2nd edition of One Love Festival. Always on 2 days (on June 17th and 18th at the Baduel stadium), and always with a strong dominant reggae, having placed Haiti in the honor in 2009, the programming wishes to honor Brazil in 2011, by welcoming the mythical group ” OLODUM “. The concept which had so much seduced the public in 2009, unchanged rest in 2011: our local artists will share the scene with international artists. But this year, the foundation even more wishes to get involved in the artistic and cultural life of the département:
- A partnership is established with “Les Transamazoniennes” to accompany professionally the artistic career of certain Guyanese artists: so, One Love Festival will welcome ” les tremplins reggae & Dance Hall “, whose prize-winners will be scheduled to the festival of “Trans” (In November 10th 11th 12th 13th, 2011 at Saint-Laurent du Maroni and in November 19th at St Georges de l’Oyapock).
- Residences will be organized with certain international artists in order to favour musical creations in association with the local scene.
And naturally, the sport and the professional valuation of the young people:
- Every year the foundation supports financially the Guyana football league for the organization of the challenge Claude ELISE, tournament reserved for U15 and gathering together the selection of Guyana as well as Caribbean formations.
- A partnership linking Novotel and the foundation was signed to accompany and value young high school students of MELKIOR, to be undergoing training hotel business restoration. This commitment will give rise to the distribution of three documentaries redrawing the variousStages of their courses.
